    Something that I have always struggled with, regarding my little man, is colds. Or rather, sniffly noses. Or rather, a sniffly nose. To clarify, we aren’t talking about my nose… but about my son’s. The poor dude apparently has some allergies and gets congested rather frequently. He also catches colds rather regularly, or at least it feels that way to me. He was finally over a major cold before we left to come to the east coast for a visit.     Have you ever noticed that sometimes, when you have gotten out of a relationship or a situation and had some time to think or breathe, you start to notice things that you didn’t notice before?  Sometimes you realize that things were better than you had originally thought.  Sometimes you look back and realize that things were worse than you thought.  Sometimes you think about how you had handled it and realize that maybe you could have handled it differently, or should have.  Perspective is funny.     Traveling Together

    As I am typing, I am sitting up on a brand new memory foam mattress in the dark, listening to my son breathing deeply and cars driving down the neighborhood roads. I have a dull reminder of a horrid headache that I had earlier, but am, myself, very comfortable. I am home, in my other home. The home I was brought home from the hospital to. The home with my Mom and my Dad. And I am there with my son, the first grandchild, my first miracle. It feels great.
