Flashback: Baby Names

A long time ago… (2007) I was pregnant and working hard to decide on baby names.  If you don’t know our story, I didn’t have a successful pregnancy until 2010 and there was a long period of emotional ups and downs in that time.

Anyway, I’ve been looking through old posts, trying to reformat some, delete others, and just being blown away by where we have been and how much pain there was and how much information I shared and where we’ve gotten to.  One of the things that amazed me as well, was my choices of baby names.

My first choice for boy remained my first choice… for years.  I remember explaining as soon as we knew we were having a son, that we knew his name, and he had been named for years.  Talk about a child who was long awaited!!!  And then I noticed that my daughter’s first name was on the top of the list as well!  Go figure.  Since her middle name is the meaning of her first name (oops) I guess I already had that one pegged as well.

It’s pretty interesting to see how much the naming of a child means to a person.  I find myself pondering what Baby #3 will be named.  Somehow, nothing seems right.  Mind you, I’m not pregnant yet… or planning it right now.  However, when I was pregnant with my son I knew… and when I was pregnant with my daughter, I knew what name I wanted. And I suppose the name of the next addition, if there ever is one, will come in due time as well.  But baby names are just SO much fun!

How did you choose your children’s names?  If you don’t have children, do you ever think about baby names?  I’ve had a momma’s heart much longer than I’ve been a momma.
