One Day at a Time
I’m sitting on the couch in the camper watching John & Kate + 8. It’s one of the older episodes where they visit Disney World. Carolina is parked next to me, sleeping like the angel she has been all day. Jake is hiding out in the bedroom. I think he picks up on something being different with me. Jake is my little protector. He guards me, always has, and picks up on every little thing in my mood or health. He’s been particularly agitated for somewhere near a week and he seems to be exhausted by it. Carolina has mellowed out a ton since we arrived in Houston and I’m home all day. She has horrible separation anxiety though, and the rattle she makes when we get home from leaving her is horrible, especially because campers don’t have much sound blocking insulation. Our poor neighboor. He swears he doesn’t hear them hardly ever, but we know that our arrivals are always well announced. James says he’ll build me something that will squirt them in the kennel when they make too much noise. We’ll see, that’d rock.
Today I’m exhausted. I tried a new recipe for dinner last night and it didn’t turn out and what I did end up eating didn’t sit well for me. After we went out to get dog food and prenatal vitamins I got M&Ms and that was wonderful. Have you ever tried frozen M&Ms? They are incredible. The peanut ones are my favorite. I wake up about a half dozen times a night lately. Three or four potty breaks, and at least once for my shoulder, and I wake up many times either hot or cold or I accidentally rolled onto my chest. OUCH! Because I don’t get a ton of sleep, I’m pretty pooped during the days. Carolina and Jake follow suit. I end up napping a lot and not getting much done during the day. I need to get some more groceries and healthy snacks so that I can keep up my energy during the day.
I’ m trying to stay positive, let go and let God, and I have decided to pray for God to protect my baby and my heart and to help me accept whatever he chooses to do. One day at a time.
About the pregnancy, I feel great.
