Mission Accomplished : Baby Girl’s Curtain
I last left off with a half-finished curtain and a nap-in progress. See HERE if you want to see the beginnings… After nap and snacks and some chores, I finished it up. First, I folded over the sides of the curtain fabric and stitched a straight stitch the whole way up, really really close to the edge. Work in Progress : Curtain for Baby Girl
I’ve never made curtains before. This is a very exciting project. It’s also a big challenge because I’m trying to pinch pennies and I’ve got to use what I have. A while back, my husband went fabric shopping for me. He knows that I create best when I have a stash at home and don’t have to add shopping to the task list. He came home with an interesting assortment. I’m still looking for ways to use most of it. And I’m grateful for that challenge. Flashback : Deuteronomy 31:8
This is another project from my time in Alaska. The trick I found for spacing out where I wanted letters and designs, was to do the initial drawings on vellum and then hold it over the wood to determine if it would work as I hoped. This was very helpful… along with having very fine pointed paintbrushes. All done by hand, this sign hung in our rental townhouse in Alaska, in our camper as we transitioned here, and now in our coat closet in our house. One of the most reassuring scriptures to me. Flashback : Carpet Tiles
This one is a flashback to an old project. I was 7 months pregnant, and totally nesting. We were living in the 5th Wheel – yep, you read that correctly. Our “home” had a garage that was designed to pull a four wheeler or motorcycle into, but since it was 1/3 of the space we had, we wanted to make it more “livable.” We tracked down carpet tiles on craigslist. Have you heard of them? Think hospitals and other carpeted high-traffic areas. They don’t have wall-to-wall, roll-out carpets.
