Preschool Homeschool : The Letter Y

We opted to homeschool instead of enrolling our son in standard Pre-K. I am sharing with you some of the activities we did to learn about the letter Y. Whether you homeschool or not, these are short and sweet ways to reinforce letter learning.

Walphabet’s ABCs Song

Walphabet’s Letter Y

Highlight-a-Letter by Babbling Abby.  I use these for my oldest (4), while my youngest (2), colors on her own.  She got Yuri (Big Big Friends) today and I printed a simple Yamask for my son.

Tea Time with Tayla – Letter Y

We did the Y is for Yak craft from Crystal & Comp!  Her crafts are always SO cute!  I used a highlighter to mark where the kids would put glue, and they did the gluing themselves.  I think that the Yak’s are ADORABLE!

ABCMouse Letter Y

We used  Lego Duplo Alphabet Mats from 123Homeschool4Me.com.  Both kids love it! My son is a VERY tactile learner, and these activities just ROCK!

Storybots Letter Y

  These great, flash, interactive activities are a wonderful and FREE resource, as well!  The kids really enjoy them!  The whole set is available in the Google Play store for Android,  Amazon App Store or iTunes!

Finally, we hung the Letter Y (in big and little form) on our wall, to join A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N,O,P, Q, R, S , T, U, V, W & X.
